Kylie Ann Minogue

Date of Birth :
28th May, 1968

Location :
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

You can count on the fingers of one hand the number of “pop” artists who’ve lasted more than a decade, let alone more than two decades! In July 1987 Kylie released her first single, a remake of the 1962 Little Eva hit “Locomotion”. The song hit No.1 in Australia and remained in the top spot for seven weeks, becoming the biggest Australian single of the ’80’s. Twenty years later she now holds the record for the most played female artist on UK radio over the last 20 years!

Since then she has released nine studio albums, two live CDs, seven live concert DVD’s, plus her Greatest Hits and the Ultimate Kylie double album and multiple video packages. This is of course in addition to 43 singles released internationally, all of which have been hits.

Kylie has been the guest of Royalty in Britain and Europe, she’s received countless gold and platinum discs; she’s been honoured with numerous prestigious awards and in 2000 closed the Sydney Olympics. She’s sold-out six world tours, including the critically acclaimed 2006/2007 “Showgirl Homecoming” concert which saw her concluding the original Showgirl tour that was cut short due to illness.

She’s graced the covers of the world’s leading magazines, including Attitude, Australian Style, Cleo, Cosmopolitan, Elle, The Face, FHM, Follow Me, Glamour, GQ, Harpers Bazaar, Heat, Hello, ID, Melody Maker, Ministry, Music Week, OK, Paris Match, Rolling Stone, Sky, Select, Time and multiple covers of Vogue (Australian Guest Editor in 2006), the list is endless.

Early on in her career, after the release of “Shocked”, her 13th hit single in 1991, the British industry “bible” Music Week magazine declared that Kylie was the ONLY act in the history of the British pop music to have their first 13 releases all go Top 10. Kylie now has 39 consecutive U.K. hits, none of which failed to peak in the Top 20, 29 in the Top 10!

Today Kylie is one of the world’s most successful female music artists, but she wasn’t always known as a singer. Kylie started her career at age eleven when approached to act in the national Australian T.V. drama series “Skyways”, this was followed by more Australian television roles in the popular drama “The Sullivans” and later “The Henderson Kids”.

After her seventeenth birthday Kylie left school to take up acting as a full time profession. Her character “Charlene” in the Australian “soap” Neighbours is still arguably today, one of the most popular characters ever to come out of Australian television.

By the time Kylie was out of her teens she had won five Logies (the Australian equivalent of an Emmy); the youngest actress ever to do so. In 1987 she won the Silver Logie for “Most Popular Actress” and in 1988 she was the first artist ever to win 4 Logies on one night, including the Gold for “Most Popular Personality on Australian Television”, and another Silver.

Kylie’s recording career began in 1987 when she released “Locomotion” which topped the charts in Australia and S.E.Asia. The success of this release led to Kylie teaming up with famed British record producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman in London.

Kylie’s eponymously titled debut album, released July 1988, contained the hit singles “I Should Be So Lucky”, “Got To Certain”, a re-recorded version of “The Loco-motion” and “Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi”. It sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Her duet with Jason Donovan, “Especially For You” debuted at #2 and shipped silver on release bringing Kylie’s single sales in the U.K. to well over 2 million in under 12 months. The album sold similar quantities, going seven-times platinum in the UK. An impressive debut.

In October 1989 Kylie released her eagerly awaited second album “Enjoy Yourself” which shot to No.1 in the U.K. with pre-sales of over 600,000 copies. The album spawned 4 worldwide hits including the No.1 singles “Hand On Your Heart” and “Tears On My Pillow”.

In December Kylie’s first feature film “The Delinquents” was released around the world to rave reviews and became the top grossing movie in the U.K. Also that month, Kylie joined the likes of Bob Geldof, Lisa Stansfield, Bananarama, Bros, Cliff Richard, and Wet Wet Wet for Band Aid 2’s 1989 recording of “Do They Know It’s Christmas” to raise money for Ethiopia.

Two more albums - “Rhythm Of Love” and “Let’s Get To It” - and more classic singles - “Better The Devil You Know”, “What Do I Have To Do”, “Shocked” - followed before the release of “Kylie’s Greatest Hits” in 1992. The album collected all 19 hits along with three new songs and debuted at #1 on the UK charts.

On her move from PWL to the dance label Deconstruction, Kylie effectively made the difficult transition from “Pop Princess” to “Career Artist”, a delicate jump very few artists have been able to make successfully.

September 1994 saw the release of her album simply entitled “Kylie Minogue”. Greeted with much critical acclaim the album debuted at no. 4 in the U.K. All three singles released from the album became worldwide hits.

Kylie’s third duet “Where The Wild Roses Grow”, a “Murder Ballad” penned by Nick Cave and recorded with Nick and his band The Bad Seeds was released internationally in 1995, becoming her 25th consecutive hit peaking at No. 2 in Australia and 11 in Britain. The release introduced Nick Cave to a whole new audience whilst doing the same for Kylie.

In 1994 Kylie had a lead role in the 40 million dollar epic ‘Streetfighter’ with Jean Claude Van Damme, and in 1995 she starred in a short film entitled Hayride To Hell shot in Australia for the European Film Festivals. 1996 saw the release of a comedy called ‘Bio-Dome’ for the producers of ‘Dumb & Dumber’ in Hollywood with Pauly Shore and Steven Baldwin. In 1998 Kylie starred in an Australian independent film called ‘Sample People’; and alongside Molly Ringwald in Mushroom Pictures horror film ‘Cut’. Earlier in 1999 she also found time to appear in a Caribbean production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest for which she received rave reviews.

Kylie’s sixth studio album “Impossible Princess” (aka “Kylie Minogue”) was released in March 1998. With all lyrics by Kylie Minogue, “Impossible Princess”, featuring collaborations with The Manic Street Preachers, Brothers In Rhythm and Dave Ball (Soft Cell, The Grid), became yet another No. 1 for Miss Minogue (AUSTRALIAN MUSIC REPORT).

In addition to Nick Cave, Kylie’s list of collaborations extend to the successful cult underground dance track “G.B.I.” recorded with leading Japanese artist Towa Tei (of Dee-lite fame); a track called “In Denial” with the Pet Shop Boys for their album, a duet with Ben Lee on “The Reflex” for a Duran-Duran tribute album, and the famous duet with Robbie Williams, “Kids” which debuted at No. 2 in the UK charts!

In October 1999 Kylie released a collectible art book featuring contributions from many of the world’s most respected artists, on the theme of “Kylie”. Demand for the book was unprecedented with a second printing within the first month of release!

June 2000 saw the much anticipated release of “Spinning Around” the first single from Kylie’s debut studio album for Parlophone Records. In true style she caused a sensation by debuting at Number 1 in both the UK and Australian charts. “Spinning Around” also gave Kylie the honour of being one of only two artists (the other being Madonna) to have a number one in the eighties, nineties and noughties!

In September 2000 her follow up single, “On A Night Like This” was released repeating “Spinning Around”’s success by debuting in the UK charts at #2 and Australian charts at #1. Kylie’s most anticipated album yet, “Light Years”, was released at the same time to massive critical & commercial success debuting at #2 in the U.K. and reaching #1 in Australia (double platinum!)

Kylie performed to her biggest audience ever at the closing ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games! Kylie thrilled more than 4 billion viewers with her rendition of “Dancing Queen” and “On A Night Like This”. Less than two weeks later she headlined the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games.

Kylie ended a phenomenal year with the release of a fourth single from “Light Years”, “Please Stay” on December 11th, as well as a prestigious appearance at the Royal Variety Performance. The top 10 hit “Please Stay” was Kylie’s 33rd hit single and her 20th UK Top Ten hit.

In January 2001 tickets went on sale for Kylie’s first major tour in nine years. The “On A Night Like This” tour sold out immediately for shows in the UK, Europe and Australia, where the tour became the most successful arena tour by a female artist EVER. The tour was no less successful in the UK, where the capacity doubled to accommodate the huge number of ticket applications.

The tour garnered rave reviews in the press, with the NME declaring that “the hits wheeled out tonight are pop at its most exciting” and the Guardian writing that the show was “utterly fabulous”.

By now “Light Years” was platinum in the UK and 4 x platinum in Australia, where readers voted her “Best Pop Artist” in Australian Rolling Stone. Back in the UK, Kylie was nominated for a prestigious Brit Award for Best International Female. She later took time out to attend the LA premiere of the film “Moulin Rouge”, in which she features as the Green Fairy.

September 2001 saw the Kylie phenomenon reach fever peak with the release of her global smash hit “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” from the multi-platinum selling album “Fever”. The album generated a further three smash hit singles “In Your Eyes”, “Love At First Sight” and “Come Into My World” and sold over six million copies worldwide.

Kylie garnered a host of major awards including Top of The Pops Awards for Best Tour for “On A Night Like This” and Top Song for “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”, 3 Italian Dance Music Awards for Best International Artist, Best Song and Best Video, an NME Award for Best Pop Act, and ‘Showbusiness Personality of The Year’ at the Variety Club of Great Britain Awards.

Kylie stole the show at the 2002 Brit Awards with an incredible performance of “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” and won two major awards for Best International Female and Best International Album. At the World Music Awards in Monaco, Kylie delivered another show stopping performance to an world-wide audience of a billion people and was honoured as Best Selling Australian Artist of The Year.

In the spring Kylie embarked on her most ambitious live tour to date. Kylie’s ‘Fever’ tour kicked off in Cardiff in April 2002 before moving on to Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Newcastle and London. Tickets to the 25 date tour sold out within minutes of them going on sale and The Manchester Evening News presented Kylie with a plaque in recognition of having the most number of shows by a solo artist to sell out the Arena EVER a record she later broke herself!

Kylie took her “Fever!” tour to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany and Holland, and then on to Australia in August where she sold out six nights at Sydney’s Entertainment Centre and a further six nights at the Rod Laver Arena in her native Melbourne.

Kylie was awarded “Woman Of The Year” 2002 at the Elle style awards while the record-breaking “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” garnered 3 Ivor Novello Awards for Best International Single, Best Dance Record and Most Played Record of The Year, and scooped an MTV Award for Best Choreography in a Music Video.

Kylie swept the board at the ARIA’s winning 4 awards including the first Special Achievement award! Just weeks later Kylie triumphed at the 2002 MTV Music Awards Best Pop Act and Best Dance Act and stole the show at Top of The Pops Awards with a stunning performance of “Come Into My World” and a second award for Tour Of The Year for “Fever 2002″.

November 2002 saw the highly anticipated release of the Fever 2002 Live DVD and the book “Kylie: La La La”. Written in collaboration with her artistic director Will Baker, “La La La” documents Kylie’s remarkable career and includes over 300 photos, most of which have never been seen before.

In 2003 Kylie’s lingerie range, ‘Love Kylie’, was launched in the UK in Selfridges to a massive media frenzy and incredible sales. Demand far exceeded supply with Selfridges doubling their orders to cope.

Kylie was awarded a Centenary Medal by the Governor General of Australia for “Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry” and for the third year in a row won “Australian Performer of the Year” and “Showbusiness Ambassador of the Year” for the second consecutive year at the 28th Annual MO Awards in Australia.

In May 2003 Kylie appeared in the Rambert Dance Company project, “21″ choreographed by Rafael Bonachella “On A Night Like This Tour”, “Fever2002 Tour”) in a short black & white filmed piece.

In June Kylie was voted the sexiest pop pin up in the world by viewers of music channel VH1 and her “Agent Provocateur” commercial won Best Cinema Commercial of the Year at the British TV Awards.

Kylie spent the summer of 2003 recording her ninth studio album, “Body Language” in London, Ireland and Spain. “Body Language” was released in various territories on 17th November 2003. It was preceded by the hypnotic single “Slow”, written by Kylie Minogue/Emiliana Torrini and Dan Carey which debuted at number 1 in Australia and the UK.

In February 2004 Kylie received a Grammy for ‘Come Into My World’ which was the ‘Best Dance Recording’. During 2004 polls released by the PPL reveal that Kylie is the most played female artist on UK radio over the last 20 years and 4th overall! When the tickets went on sale for Kylie’s biggest concert tour to date, ‘Showgirl’ a greatest hits extravaganza celebrating her extraordinary career thus far, dates sold out instantly. Kylie’s greatest hits CD package, ‘Ultimate Kylie’ dominated the Christmas charts and also included the new track, ‘I Believe In You’, co-written with Jake Shears and Babydaddy from the Scissor Sisters, which debuted at No. 2 in the UK charts.

Early in 2005, ‘Kylie - the Exhibition’ opened in Melbourne. The free exhibition featured costumes and photographs spanning Kylie’s entire career and went on to tour Australian capital cities receiving over 500,000 visitors, before opening at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in January 2007 where the show set a new attendance record with 8000 visitors in one week.

In March ‘05 Kylie’s sold out ‘Showgirl - The Greatest Hits Tour’ opened to great critical acclaim in Glasgow. She went on to perform 23 sold out nights at only four venues in the UK including seven nights at Earls Court Arena where she set the record for the most dates by a female artist ever at a UK venue. The tour also played 14 sold out dates throughout Europe before travelling to Australia where the rest of the tour had to be postponed due to Kylie being diagnosed with early stage breast cancer.

Kylie spent the next twelve months focusing on her treatment and recovery from cancer and in June of 2006 readers of leading British fashion magazine GQ and Glamour both vote Kylie ‘Woman of The Year’. In October of 2006 Kylie’s enchanting children’s book, ‘The Showgirl Princess’ was published, delighting her younger fans (and some older ones too!) Shortly after the release of the book Kylie’s first fragrance ‘Darling’ was released by beauty giants Coty. ‘Darling’ became the most successful fragrance launch in the history of Australian retailing and also is a huge success in the UK and throughout Europe.

On the 11th November 2006 Kylie made an emotional return to the stage in Australia to resume her Showgirl Tour which was retitled, ‘Showgirl Homecoming, before taking it back to the UK for seven dates at Wembley and another seven in Manchester! The reviews were superlative.

To top off an incredibly busy end to the year Kylie not only appeared on the cover of Australian Vogue but also took on the role of guest editor for the issue. She simultaneously appeared around the world on the cover of Elle Magazine in a beautiful photo-shoot by the legendary Karl Lagerfeld.

Also in January 2007 Madame Tussaud’s in London unveiled a new waxwork of Kylie. This is her fourth waxwork and only the Queen has had more models created.

Kylie is currently working on several projects, but concentrating on her 10th studio album for Parlophone, and a second perfume for Coty.

Abigail Rogan biography

Name :
Abigail Rogan

Date of Birth :
?????

Location :
?????

Abigail became Australia’s undisputed number 1 female sex symbol through her role as virginal blonde Bev Houghton in “Number 96″ (1972). English born Abigail was educated in France. Came to Australia in 1971 (comm: other sources mention 1968 as year of migration) and played female lead in “There’s a Girl in My Soup” in Perth. Moved to Sydney and got noticed in a TV commercial in which she played a Marilyn Monroe type bombshell opposite Phil Silvers.

Landed the role of Bev in Number 96. Was an original cast member and one of the most popular stars of the series, though Abigail quickly tired of the monotonous storylines for Bev (she was a shy virgin and the scriptwriters conspired to simply throw her into bed with a series of men) and after several public disagreements with the show’s producers left suddenly in June 1973. The role of Bev was hastily recast, with the new actress taking over mid-episode. Abigail was the only major star of the series not to appear in the movie version released in 1974. Abigail had difficulty gaining many serious roles after leaving the series, and appeared in several bit-parts closely following the contours of her sex-symbol image in various sex-comedy films of the mid 1970s. Later appeared in several comedy roles on the stage, played a prim French teacher in school based drama “Class of ‘75″ (1975) and a super-efficient secretary in the early episodes of hospital soap “Young Doctors, The” (1976). Was finally lured back to Number 96 in 1976 briefly playing a new character called Eve who was to appear in a proposed spin-off series with Elaine Lee though the new series was never picked-up. Retired from acting and lived on a banana plantation in Queensland. Publicly criticized the increasingly overt sex-scenes and violence featured in the later episodes of Number 96. In 1984 after a long absence from the limelight was cast as comic heroine Caroline Morrell in television soap “Sons and Daughters” (1981) by producers desperate to revamp the show after the departure of the series most famous character Patricia “Pat the Rat” Hamilton portrayed by Rowena Wallace. Abigail’s character was a great success and the show survived a further three years with Caroline quickly becoming one of the central characters. She continued with the series until its demise in 1987. Later appeared in guest roles on TV shows such as the long-running series “Neighbours” (1985), and was added to the cast of floundering series “Chances” (1991) in a last ditch attempt to spice up its quickly fading popularity. In return to her sex-comedy roots, Abigail’s Chances character was a sex-therapist named Bambi Chute.

Source: Abigail Rogan biography

“I was naked…” It was late December 1971 and a prim and pert young blonde named Abigail was in a long queue at the North Sydney offices of TV Producers Cash Harmon. Out of work and desperate, the pretty, English-born young actress was at the casting session for a new series to be set in a block of flats.

“I was pretty nervous - which is unlike me - when I walked into Bill Harmon’s office but he was such a dear man. He put me straight at ease. I read the part of Bev for him and he told me to report to the TEN studios at North Ryde for a screen test. I was over the moon. The next day he told me I was in.”

An overjoyed Abigail and her lover-manager Mark Hashfield celebrated with a bottle of Bodega. After “Number 96″ hit the screens Abigail quickly emerged as Australia’s hottest new star with her delicate blond beauty and teasing portrayal of the scantily-clad virginal sex-kitten.

Mark Hashfield himself would soon be cast in “Number 96″ as well, playing Alan Cotterell, boyfriend of Bev’s flatmate Janie. A fairly dull character, Alan had a triumphant departure when it was finally discovered that he was in fact the dreaded knicker snipper who had raided Bev’s underwear drawer, and who had hid under Georgina Carter’s bed in order to reach out and snatch the freshly discarded panties the undressing hippie had just wriggled out of.

“Incredible as it may seem, Bev Houghton never had a … sorry, took a lover … in ‘96′.” Explained Abigail. “She got into some incredible scrapes, but when she left the series she was virgo intacta.”

“I received heaps of letters condemning me for being a wicked woman, yet I displayed nothing more than a brief glimpse of my boobs or a flash of my naked backside in the two-and-a-half [sic] years I was with the show.”

Published at the height of her fame, her 1973 autobiography Call Me Abigail sold 15,000 copies in two weeks. Setting the tone for the literary triumph was the text’s opening line “I was naked”… but never in “Number 96″, right Abigail?

As well as detailing the intimate aspects of her personal life, the book also featured authentic poetry by Abigail, along with a pictorial centre-spread of snap-shots variously captioned “stripping for Number 96″, “stripped for Number 96″, “who left the door open?”, and the squeaky clean “rub-a-dub-dub”.

Poetry by Abigail:

When I was a child I used to see
Mindless faces watching me.
But I am a child no more, nor they,
For all I see
Have knowledge burned within,
And erupting still, when opening their mouths
To speak;
Their ears ever waiting to snatch and savage
Scraps of knowledge passing too close
Dragging them down deep into the mire
Choking, twisting, turning, bending,
Till yielding they come to rest
With other decaying matter.
Their eyes poke and prod and probe:
Greedy instruments of their eternal darkness
And now with knowledge, all I see,
Are faceless minds watching me.

After her sudden departure from “Number 96″ in June 1973 Abigail found herself severely typecast. She played a sexy pre-credits cameo in 1973 sex-comedy hit “Alvin Purple”, and returned in its 1974 sequel, “Alvin Rides Again”. In this second film she tackled the challenging role of a fag-smoking, northern English tart in charge of the road-side diner where Alvin calls in for a cup of tea. Her brief scene calls for her to literally bust out of her poorly-constructed apparel, and to then engage in sexual intercourse with Alvin as a stream of Jaffas cascade onto their bodies. Kinky.

In the dud 1976 comedy “The Rollicking Adventures of Eliza Fraser” Abigail provides another brief cameo; a bedroom scene where the sheet is whipped off the bed to reveal the star’s famed breasts. This, her single scene in the film, features just a handful of lines and is played as the opening credits are flashed over the top.

Abigail then enacted a brief cameo in the Phil Avalon surfer-flick “Summer City” (1977), in which she played “Woman in Pub”. In a dramatic departure, Abigail remained clothed throughout her brief scene in this film - albeit in a very low-cut asset-revealing yellow dress. Her character was intended as a rough sort who has led a very hard life, so they put her in an unflattering black wig and did a very hard make-up job on her.

Around this time Abigail also turned to singing, recording an album - which flopped. Unleashed were such singles as J’Taime, and the curiously titled Biting My Nails.

Abigail seems to have had more success in the genre in which she first found fame - television soapies. Though her roles in Class of ‘74 and The Young Doctors were hardly long-running dramatic triumphs but rather guest roles designed to capitalise of her sexy image, they were at least meatier than her quick-flash-of-breast movie bit-parts in dismal sex comedies. Finally, in the mid-1980s, Abigail enjoyed perhaps her greatest role, that of Caroline in Sons and Daughters. Though that rather overblown soapie was arguably past its peak by the time of Caroline’s arrival in 1985, the character remains perhaps the show’s greatest asset during its final few years.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte biography

Name :
Natalie Bassingthwaighte

Date of Birth :
1st September 1975

Location :
Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia

Natalie began acting at an early age starting in school productions and then progressing onto stage school, attending both the Wollongong School Of Performing Arts before going to The Australian College Of Entertainment, the later of which has had stars such as Delta Goodrem and Natalie Imbruglia as pupils.

Natalie has also been in several large theatrical productions such as Rent and Footloose and she remains keen to continue work in the theatre. She starred in the 2005 national production of Grease the musical.

On the small screen Natalie has appeared several times on programs such as The People’s Choice Awards, All Saints, Carols By Candlelight, beauty and The Beast, Good Morning Australia and Australian Idol.

Natalie starred in the Australian TV soap Neighbours from 2003 to 2006, which is shown in many countries around the globe, as the character Izzy Hoyland. Izzy is a complex character with a hard exterior which often causes strife upon interaction with others. Her good looks and a tendancy to a lack of sublety makes her a hit with the male populous but generally causes conflict with females. Izzy has also had a fairly unsettled past partially due to her mother finding religion which has proven to be a division between which is ongoing. Family comes in the form of her brother Max and his family Steph, Boyd and Summer who live at number 32 Ramsey Street. The character of Izzy was built up as the vixen of Ramsay Street and it played a big role in the drive of Neighbours to create excitment around it’s theme of evil in 2006. Whilst Izzy and her evil streak seemed to attract hatred from other characters and fans alike there were hints of geniune goodness from the character of Izzy. These tended to be overshadowed by a return to the malicious acts that seemed the norm for Izzy.

2006 saw the end of Natalie Bassingthwaighte’s involvement in Neighbours as she annouced that she was leaving to focus on her music career. Soon after her departure it was annouced that Natalie would appear in Neighbours in a guest role as the characters of Karl and Susan spent a holiday in the United Kingdom. The guest scenes were filmed towards the end of 2006 and Natalie joined Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne to do various promotional work in the UK.

In 2005 Natalie took time out from her role in Neighbours to star as Sandy in a nationwide production of Grease.

Another huge part of Natalie’s career is her involvement in the electro dance band the Rogue Traders. This began in 2004 when she auditioned for the part of lead singer as the band relaunched themselves. The other band members took to Natalie immediately and Natalie began working with them. At first her involvement was kept quiet and it wasn’t until the band released their first single with her on board. As “Voodoo Child” hit radio stations Natalie was noticed by fans and the media picked up on Natalie, who was sporting a dark wig and gothic style clothing, and her involvement in the band. The popularity of Voodoo Child and frantic PR work by the band, which saw them appearing at various gigs around Australia and performing on several television shows. This popularity continued to grow throughout 2005 which saw the release of the bands second album “Here Come The Drums” which sold well and was helped along by continued publicity and PR work. 2006 saw the band release more singles from the Here Come The Drums album. The band also annouced that plans to released their music in the U.K and Europe. These releases were tied to Natalie leaving Neighbours in early June and their chosen single, Voodoo Child, began hitting U.K radio stations in May 2006 with a provisional release date of July 10th 2006.

Natalie tends to keep her private life to herself but has spoken about relationships on several occasions. She has been married once when she was younger though has stated that she doesn’t want to rush into marriage again. This marriage began when she was 23 however both Natalie and her partner soon began to feel their relationship had changed for the worse. They were divorced in 1998 around the time Natalie began her role as the star in the theatrical production of Rent. During her time on Neighbours Natalie was rumoured to be dating Ryan Eckersley, the assistant to the director of the show. This was confirmed by and in depth interview done with Australian O.K magazine in the summer of 2005 in which the pair suggested that they were moving in together. A report on the BBC Neighbours site shortly after reported that Natalie and Ryan were engaged though this soon dissapeared from the site as news about the report spread. Nothing more was heard of the pair until interviews Natalie did in the early part of 2006 in which she mentioned a partner. As the interviews continued it became clear that this was a new boyfriend and it was soon annouced that Natalie was dating fellow Rogue Traders band member Cameron McGlinchy. No further mention was made of Ryan and the relationship between Natalie and Cameron continued as the Rogue Traders grew further. The pair’s relationship was still fairly private, and Natalie continued to dodge any question which were too personal, but they appeared at several events (such as the 2006 Logie awards) as a couple.

Natalie is heavily involved in various charity events. She is an ambassador for the global children’s charity Variety and frequently attends charity events often singing and performing for an audience. She has also auctioned off several items of clothing, which are generally decorated and signed by Natalie Bassingthwaighte, in conjuction with organistations like Smash Hits Australia. Natalie has also taken part in compaigns such as RADD which sees celebrities helping spread the message against drink driving.

Natalie is currently focusing on the music side of her career. She has expressed a continuing desire to spend time in Los Angeles looking for new acting roles. Natalie is also set to release her own solo album in late 2006 / early 2007

Name :
Elle Macpherson

Date of Birth :
29th March, 1963

Location :
Killara, New South Wales, Australia

Baptized an Anglican and christened Eleanor Nancy Gow, MacPherson was the eldest of four children. Her parents divorced when she was fourteen years old and her mother later married Neil MacPherson. MacPherson then changed her last name for her stepfather’s. She studied one year of Law in the University of Sydney.

While vacationing in Aspen, Colorado Macpherson was discovered and signed to Click Model Management. MacPherson became an international star through her appearance in ELLE magazine — every issue, for six straight years. At 21, she married Gilles Bensimon, a French photographer and creative manager of ELLE. Eventually she gained even more exposure through Sports Illustrated magazine’s annual swimsuit issue. She appeared on the cover a record four times, including three straight years.

By 1986, her popularity had increased sufficiently for Time magazine to run a cover entitled “The Big Elle”. The Australian government simultaneously offered her a post on the tourist commission as an unofficial ambassador.

MacPherson made her movie debut playing an artist’s model in the 1994 Sirens, which starred Hugh Grant, Sam Neill, Tara Fitzgerald and co-starred Portia de Rossi, as another model. MacPherson gained 9 kilograms (20 lb) enlarge her breasts to a voluptuous 37D. She surprised fans and critics by appearing unabashedly in numerous nude scenes, earning her top billing for the film above more established actors (in fact, nearly all the female characters in the movie appeared nude at least once in the film).

In 1999, MacPherson appeared in five episodes of the hit US sitcom Friends as Joey’s roommate — girlfriend, Janine Lecroix.

MacPherson went on to film Jane Eyre with William Hurt and has also appeared alongside Ben Stiller and Sarah Jessica Parker in If Lucy Fell.

MacPherson is the most financially successful of all the world’s supermodels. A 1997 estimate placed her net assets at $40.3 million. Cindy Crawford is a relatively close second with $37.7 million.

Understandably, MacPherson is incredibly popular in her home country of Australia. In 1999, she became the first living Australian entertainer to be put on a postage stamp.

Elle was a partner in the Fashion Café restaurant, along with fellow models Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell, and is currently the owner of a successful lingerie brand, Elle Macpherson Intimates.

Macpherson has two sons, Arpad Flynn Busson and Aurelius Cy Andre Busson; their father is Arpad Busson, a wealthy Swiss/French financier. MacPherson and Busson were engaged in 2002 after a six-year relationship, but according to MacPherson they could not marry because Arkie Busson is a devout Roman Catholic, and she is a divorcee. They were allegedly awaiting an annulment. Their relationship ended in July 2005, but tabloids recently alleged that they may be reaching out to each other again (as of February 2006).
